HappenUpon ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

HappenUpon is designed to keep your data on your device. We collect and store the following:

• Trip data — itineraries, items, dates, and notes you create are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
• Photos — photos you attach to itinerary items are stored locally on your device.
• iCloud — if you use Trip Sharing, your trip data is stored in your personal iCloud account via CloudKit. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
• Vault data — passport numbers, loyalty numbers, and known traveler numbers are stored in your device's secure Keychain. We never transmit this data.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect analytics or usage data.
• We do not run advertising or sell data to third parties.
• We do not have servers that store your personal information.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or location.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple's App Store and StoreKit.

Email Auto-Parse

If you use the Email Auto-Parse feature with your own Anthropic API key, the booking confirmation text you paste is sent to Anthropic's API to extract itinerary details. Please review Anthropic's Privacy Policy for how they handle API data. HappenUpon Pro users access this feature through Anthropic's API under our account — no data is stored beyond the current session.

Push Notifications

If you accept a shared trip, HappenUpon may send you push notifications when the trip organizer updates the itinerary. Notifications are delivered via Apple's Push Notification service (APNs). You can disable notifications at any time in your device Settings.

Children's Privacy

HappenUpon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
